Proofs For Flat Cards May Help Detect Issues
We find proofs unnecessary for most 4.25x5.5 flat card print projects. Our staff briefly inspects all files for quality purposes. If we see possible difficulties (resolution, size, etc.), we will email you a PDF proof beforehand to ensure your prints look great! - Set your card file with 4.5" x 5.75" dimensions. Remember to keep valuable content at least 0.25 inches away from the edges to avoid clipping. The pixel count for your design should be around 1350 x 1725.
- When beginning a new design, ensure you work in a 300 dpi environment. The quality settings for many professional graphics applications default at 72dpi (Adobe) and 132dpi (Procreate). Increasing your quality settings to 300dpi or higher before you start working is key to optimal print quality.
- We prefer PDF or JPG file formats. However, our company will accept other file types, such as PNG, EPS, AI, PSD, and TIF.
- Try producing your art in CMYK color mode. Before printing, we convert all 4.25" x 5.5" flat card files to CMYK. Many artists unknowingly work in RGB, a color mode for digital media. This process can lead to softened or undesired color variations.
